I can understand the inaccuracy of weapons, even though shooting the wall next to you when you take 90% aimed shot seems wrong, but I've yet to be able to get grenades to be useful nor have I seen them be used well against me, which seems wrong. Yesterday I tried to throw a grenade only to have it bounce off the wall next to me and land two squares away. Given the amount of time involved in priming and throwing a grenade, and the high cost for a one-use item, why are they so very inaccurate? Is there a particular tactic or trick I'm missing?
At the moment, throwing has a potential inaccuracy of 5 degrees either side, and the distance is adjusted by 75% - 125%. You're right, it shouldn't be that prone to error (especially when the consequences can be drastic!). I'll reduce the angle of inaccuracy to about 3 degrees in the next version of the client.
I usually just drop them and run! :)

Drop them and run - so bloody simple yet it never occurred to me, even when I just wanted to blow up a door. That should help a bit, and we'll see if the 3 degrees helps too. Thanks!
Usually I find them to be perfect. I just aim them so the yellow line is just behind (closer to my character) than the target tile. They never fail me in aim. What they do fail at is blowing up certain walls. I wasted 2 turns for nothing!
Mr. Meathir, not all walls can be blown up, there are missions where walls are indestructible, you can see that in the mission description. In missions where walls are destructible grenades never fail in doing so, in fact destructible walls are always destroyed by even the less powerful explosive device, the door charges. Hope this info is useful for you.
