- Steve, I am not concerned about the correctness of the current opp. fire behaviour. I have stepped into the sight of Jez's unit with my engineer which performed an opp. fire against my engineer. The shot missed. Then I dismantled a wall with another unit which was not in sight of Jez's unit. Jez's unit performed an opp. fire against my engineer again, though he did not move. Unfortunately all the next 2 shots hit, so I lost my engineer. Is it right that dismantling a wall anywhere on the map triggers opp. fire?

- Yes, that's right. Removing a wall could potentially reveal other units, not just the unit that removed the wall, so it triggers any opp-fire across all units to be sure.
- That sounds very bizarre, unless I misunderstand, shouldn't it only trigger opp fire from a unit if the dismantled wall reveals a target for that specific unit?

- And the opp fire should be only against the revealed unit(s)?

- Technically you're correct I guess, but to be frank it would be a real faff to remember who can see who prior to every single move that a unit makes.
- Sorry, yeah, technically my understanding of this game is zero, I kind of assume you are some sort of computing high wizard who can magically cater to our every whim :)

- Well, I can't argue that I am a programming God who's able to make a computer do anything, but, er, it's lunchtime.
- Even omnipotent beings need a break innit.

- Is it possible to purchase clone 14's evasion equipment? He survived 5 aimed shot and an inaccurate one. Today is his lucky day.

- I'll swap it for an engineer.

- This mission is very landscape dependent. If the landscape is dense with full of obsticles, like in case of Jez's side, the Human's chances are lower. Last time I had the same situation, I survived only the first 3 turns. On my side there were only a few obsticles, so I could cover the Alien rush. Also zap delayed his attack, while Stevesmith tried to rush Jez down. This helped me to build up my squad completely. I had to sit back and watch the fireworks on the other part of the kingdom.

- Didn't want to be a sore loser, but yeah, when I saw the landscape at the start of the mission my heart sank ;) The converse is also true, if aliens have to cross open ground against a decent human player then they have virtually no chance...

- Maybe a set map, with quite a lot of cover everywhere, would be better?

- Maybe it worths to create a colony mission with a fixed map. It would be an evolution map. I mean we start with a first approach and after the fourth change on the map could be the final one.
Should we place coven between the two human players?
How dense the cover should be between the aliens and the humans? Posted by

- I think the cover should be pretty dense all round. I think the humans have the advantage (I still held off Steve despite the cover) and if an alien side does overwhelm a human side then they still face being cut to pieces by the other human side...

- Is there an existing map that could be used? "The Exterminators"?
- Sure, either that (with the edges cropped?) or just this with more scenery.
