- Never have units panic in these missions. No idea what set this off. I am killing enemy units and have a decent number of my own units left. Every turn weapons dropped. I absolutely hate the panic mode. I am in myself quite carm and measured.

- I detest panic mode. Ruins perfectly good tactics and is hard to predict.

- One of the reasons after I started that I changed to standard missions. I know Pete said posted I should only make advanced ones because I wouldn't get players, and that was a va!id view, but I got sick of my men continually dropping their weapons in certain missions. Advanced mode has it's advantages so I always tried to have a mix when I created them, but those like the Big Push I always created standard.

- Advance mission set up is definitely the best mostly for the scanner with the ability to hear the enemy close by. I hate losing a perfectly good game due to twitchy software situation. Is it just me? It does seem random and some missions more suceptable. Then there are the times when I lose half my men and no panicking at all. I think it is an authentic nostalgic feature of Laser Squad but do we really want it, need it and can we get rid of it?

- Do we need both a drop in APs to half AND the weapon dropped? You pick up that weapon up but don't have any APs to do anything with it. Only for the next turn to drop the weapon again. Maybe one or the other.

- Hi Xeno, good point. I have had many games where I am constantly picking up weapons and then dropping them with no way to alter the cyclic situation. Game over. I like your idea of a less severe penalty.

- Game over exactly Pete. I remember posting precisely the same term when it has happened to me in the past. I had 5 men in the big push the one time who had taken heavy casualities quickly and they all just dropped their weapons with half APs. Next turn they did the same. Might as well concede because you could do f**k all with them.

- I reckon if it has to stay as a feature then modifying it might make it better. Panic mode is an odd one though like a secret flaw to the game.

- Yes, it has a place in the game in advanced mode, but either have a reduction in APs OR the weapon being dropped. I even proposed an abilty whereby someone with it could rally their troops if their morale dropped.

- I agree just dropping the wewpons is enough. I like your idea of cheering up the troops. How about the option of buying a bugle or playing Wagner as we go into battle?

- My troops aren't Nazis. Well I've never put them through a psychological study but I wouldn't like to think they are. But you are talking about Ride of the Valkyries; loving the smell of Nepalm in the morning. ;)

- Yeah I was thinking of Apocalypse Now! I am sure your men are fine human beings! I think my bugle might seem a little dated and silly but your idea is better. We already have a stealth and medic unit so a morale officer with an ability costing AP's to improve the morale numbers would be very cool. When Steve first introduced units with special abilities I was sceptical but now I really like them.

- Hello, how are AC? We have 2 special units. The Medic can heal other units and the Stealth unit can sneak about without detection on the scanner. You get one of each only.

- Yeah I am good. I think the special units are chosen automatically. When you play the game your unit will have medic or stealth named in his personal menu.

- Yeah there were bodies and spare weapons everywhere. Not much architecture left either. Your units were like some sort of elite shock squad, very tough.
