There are probably bigger and simpler priorities right now, but in the future how about adding flames/fire like in X-Com and Lords of Chaos. We could have Flame Throwers, Incendiary grenades, rockts or shells for the old MS Auto Cannon? It's probably not a simple thing to implement as different terrains should have varying flammability, but it would certainly make things more interesting I think.
I've 3 ideas: -The claymore bomb - Bomb to be planted, if ANY unit steps on it, it explodes. Not shown on the game after being planted/dropped. -The trigger bomb - The unit has the bomb and the trigger, the bomb is planted/dropped and only explodes when the equivalent trigger is pressed. -The chemical bomb - The explosion only affects enemy units. The allied units has taken an antidote prior to the game :).
We have discussed about mines/trip wire type devices before and seemed to come to the conclusion that it will tip the balance in favor of defenders far too much. The only way I can imagine it remaining balanced would be to change how opportunity fire works and bring some more powerful attack orientated weapons and devices to counter the balance. Right now I think there are other more immediate issues which Steve is still working on.
