What do you think about missions where map is not shown to one or more teams? These teams will only have access to the parts of the map they are walking on as well as remember previous. Just another idea.
You mean the 'Fog of War' system like which used in Lords Of Chaos?
Personally I don't really think we need that. I always assume squads would check out scanner maps or blueprints or do aerial reconnaissance before each mission. :)
There is also the fact it might give veterans like ourselves who have played most missions before countless times too much of an advantage over new players. Also there would be ways to 'cheat' the system - like downloading the maps from the mission creation wiki link. If we restricted that then it would hinder players from contributing missions.
What I WOULD like to see though is a line-of-sight system introduced for items on the ground. The fact your position is given away by dropping an item on the ground is a bit of a flaw in my opinion. It would be nice to be able to throw slow primed grenades in places without the enemy always being able to see them.
Like Deadlime says, it would give experienced players an advantage. However, for missions with randomly-generated maps, it sounds like an excellent idea.

My initial idea was random unknown maps so no advantage possible, no idea about possible cheating.
Line of Sight for ground items would be alot more realistic. It would make the game's better as players would be able to employ various tactics with the timed grenades to confuse and disorientate there adversary. Basically i agree with Deadlime. :)
