Talking about accuracy, does that small random angle apply to sniper? Sniper rifle is meant to be used at long distances, so I think that should not apply to it. Maybe reduce caused damage, what is an old topic discussed, how ended all that? Same amount of damage at all distances? I'm referring to machine guns not laser guns that are under discussion.
This occurred to me (mainly cos we're playing the Rescue From the Mines mission, which has long corridors). Since a small random amount is added to the angle, getting an accurate shot at any distance is very hard.
Thanks to William at http://www.lasersquad.org/, I've got the algorythm used in the original Laser Squad, so I'm going to implement that. I'll also add the "less damage at longer distances" bit as well.
